Required Supplies for Instrumental Music Students:

Band
Orchestra

2 Pencils at all times
All music that has been passed out
Flip Folder/Lyre (instrument specific)
 
  • Flutes: Need cleaning rod and soft cloth
  • Oboes: Need 2 reeds at all times, swab
  • Clarinets, Saxophones: Need at least 3 good quality medium/medium soft (2.5-3) reeds at all times, swab
  • Brass instruments: Need valve oil and tuning slide grease (Trombones will see me for specific instructions)
  • Percussion: See handbook for specific stick/mallet requirements.

  • Violins/Violas: A complete extra set of strings at all times Rosin, Shouder Rest and mute
  • Cellos: A Rock-stop, rosin and cello mute
    • Basses: Rock stop, rosin and bass mute 
 

 
 
Final events for the spring:
 
 Big trip contracts and payment is due by May 15th, 2012 for current 8th graders.   Please let us know if you have any question
 
Schedule and information:
 
May 14th All District Orchestra concert featuring Challenger, GMS and GHS  orchestras at GHS report at 7:10 in concert dress.  The concert begins at 7:45
 
Goddard instrumental music boosters
Golf Tournament June 9th at cherry oaks in cheney ks

Sign ups for summer jazz and orchestra camps are posted at both the middle school, and high school level and challenger.  If not enough participants sign up for summer jazz and summer orchestra camps they will be cancelled.  I can register students for these camps through email to me as well
